Eight Legislators have made moves to Impeach Nuhu Abok, the Speaker of Plateau State House of Assembly, for reasons still unclear as of the time of filing this report.
The eight members of the legislative arm of government in the state reportedly carried out their resolve to come up with the legal action against the Speaker on Thursday in the state.
House of Assembly Members Nominate New Speaker
One of the representatives that pushed for the impeachment of the head of the Assembly later called for the nomination of a member representing Pengana Constituency, Yakubu Sanda, as the new Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly.
It was gathered that the former head of the Assembly, in the early hours of Thursday, was dismissed by the lawmakers from the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, who were escorted into the chambers amidst tight security.
The report also revealed security personnel hindered some core members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, the opposition in the state, from gaining access to the Assembly complex for a reason yet to be known.
