The Oyo State Police Command has placed a 500, 000 naira bounty on the suspected serial killer in Ibadan, Sunday Shodipe.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state, Mr Olugbenga Fadeyi, the bounty is a reward for anyone who can provide useful information that can lead to the re-arrest of Shodipe.
The PPRO in a statement implored members of the public to cooperate with the police by volunteering useful information that can help re-arrest the suspect, who escaped from police custody on August 11.
He urged members of the public with useful information about Shodipe to report to the nearest police station or contact the police command on 08035632410 or 07066003536.
You will recall that Shodipe was arrested, paraded and later arraigned on July 17.
However, the court ordered him remanded in police custody instead of correctional custody due to COVID-19 preventive measures.
His escape from police custody last week has generated reactions from different quarters including journalists in Oyo State, who described his escape as unacceptable.
Also, joint campus student union leaders in the state among other groups have protested his escape.
It was gathered that Shodipe has murdered at least three persons, including two students, in Akinyele Local government area of Ibadan between May and July 2020.
