27 years after annulling the presidential election said to have been able to give late MKO Abiola a taste of Presidency, Dahiru Saleh has died.

According to report, Dahiru, who was a former Chief Judge of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Abuja High Court has been buried in his traditional town at Azare, Bauchi State.

The June 12, 1993, presidential election has been adjudged the freest and most credible election the country has ever had.

After several agitations and outcry, June 12 was made Nigeria’s democracy day against May 29 which has been earlier recognised for years.

The news of Dahiru Saleh’s death is coming 22 years after Abiola died in detention on July 7, 1998.
