2023 Presidential Election: Buhari/Tinubu Meeting Not Political- Presidency

2023 Presidential Election is somewhere around the corner, which has prompted various aspirants to move and solidify relations with perceived influential personalities in the country.

This impression flooded the minds of many Nigerians when President Muhamadu Buhari recently visited the abode of the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Bola Tinubu, in the United Kingdom, UK.

Following comments from various divisions in Nigeria, many referred to the pair as an ‘Unholy Alliance’ with the suspicion that nothing good would have ever come out of such rendezvous.

To clear the air regarding details of the duo’s discussions, Buhari’s Media Adviser, Femi Adesina, said on a television interview that his principal did not visit the former Lagos State governor to talk about 2023 election.

Adesina said Buhari’s visit to Tinubu was only a goodwill gesture expressed, following publications about the present health condition of the former Lagos State Governor.

Buhari’s Media Adviser argued that it’s too early for the President to support any aspirant, adding it’s hard to accept everything on Social Media over Tinubu’s health.

“The President still has two years, less three months left. So, for him to start supporting somebody now will be like jumping the gun. You know President Buhari will never do that.” He said.
