The just concluded 2022 World Cup in Qatar has been tagged one of the best in footballing history but was not without some dramas, controversies and memorable moments.

During the final game, Emiliano Martinez, Argentina’s Goalkeeper conducted himself in an unprofessional manner that has now attracted a serious complaint from their competition counterpart, France.

It was learnt in an interview with Ouest-France, FFF President, Noel Le Graet, that the French side has made some official moves against Martinez for taunting and trolling France Striker, Kylian Mbappe, during and after the World Cup final.

Great described Argentine keeper’s behaviour as “shocking” and “abnormal”, insisting he would face the necessary disciplinary actions as soon as the Argentine officials acknowledge the receipt of the complaint letter forwarded on the issue.

The FFF President; “We have launched different procedures. It is very shocking. These are boys who have given the best of themselves for the France team to succeed. It is important that we support them. I wrote to my counterpart from the Argentine Football Association. I find these excesses abnormal in the context of sports competition, and I find it difficult to understand. It goes too far. Mbappe’s behaviour was exemplary.”

Recall that during the game, Mbappe scored four goals, which triggered some unexplainable behaviours from the Argentine goalkeeper that later started a one-sided feud with the French footballer.

Martinez who declared Mbappe “dead” and also asked for a “one-minute” silence for him during Argentina’s dressing room celebration after winning the World Cup, has also been spotted holding Mbappe doll next to Lionel Messi on the team’s open-top bus parade.
