Some touts earlier stormed the Dangote Refinery in Lagos State which has led to the beefing up of security apparatus by the LagosPolice Command.
It was gathered that the premises was attacked by some armed hoodlums for reasons that are yet to be ascertained.
Their actions prompted the security personnel to swiftly mobilise to avert any further vandalism at the refinery.
The report revealed that the Dangote refinery was just nearing completion in the Lekki free trade zone area of Lagos State with 650,000 Barrels Per Day, BPD, was attacked by 20 hoodlums before operatives of the Lagos Police repel the attack.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Benjamin Hundeyin, the hoodlums gained access into the facility to steal amoured cables, before security men stopped them from advancing with their motive.
He said, “Some shootings occurred, one of them was hit, and others escaped. They were about 20 in number. The one that was hit died on the way to the hospital.”
