Former Governors of the All Progressives Congress, APC, have decided to move to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP with hopes of leading the present opposition to oust the ruling party come 2023.
The ex-Govs that defected are the immediate-past governor of Zamfara State, Alhaji Abdul-Aziz Yari and Senator Kabiru Garba Mafara. Both were heavily welcomed to the Peoples Democratic Party alongside their supporters.
While speaking with newsmen in Gusau, Zamfara State Capital, yesterday, State Chairman of opposition party, Col. Bala Mande (rtd), said they party have received the two APC Governors, Yari, Marafa and other top APC members who have joined the party together with their loyalists.
According to him, all the defectors have reached an agreement to foster the growth of the true Democratic party, adding that they all will see to the implementation of their goals and objectives.
His exact words during the briefing: “We have agreed to be together in one party, the PDP and work together for the success of the party, and we agreed to work extra hard in order to reclaim Zamfara State in 2023 and save its people from the present predicament.”
