A 17-year-old girl (name withheld) is seeking justice from concerned parties after she was allegedly raped by a police officer in Rivers State.

The Rivers teenager narrated her ordeal to newsmen in the state, stressing that the Officer named Salihu Kazeem blackmailed her with a nude video he forcefully recorded of her and another young girl after making false claims.

According to the girl, the police assured her of getting a fitting job for her age grade and willingly gave her his ATM card to withdraw money and buy food.

The unsuspecting teenage girl narrated how she innocently accepted the card with the other young girl and did as he said, not knowing that the cunning officer had evil plans in motion.

On receiving the card back from the girls, Kazeem said they spent more than bargained, and he had started receiving multiple debit alerts to the tune of N500,000.

On her part, the police rape victim, she claimed the officer detained them, tear-gassed their faces, took off their clothes and filmed them naked.

After that, the 17-year-old girl alleged that he raped her and the other female until morning before letting them go.

The officer in question told an entirely different tale even after seizing the girl’s phone.

Fighting the teenage girl is the Centre for Basic Rights Protection and Accountability Campaign that also called for a thorough investigation into the incident and for the Nigerian police to do the right thing.
