Ministry Of Aviation Certifies 14 Airports For Flight Operations In Nigeria

The Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika has listed the Airports that have been inspected and certified for domestic flight operations in Nigeria.

In a list tagged Current status of the restart of Aviation Industry, the Minister listed fourteen airports approved for the resumption of operations as of July 24th.

According to a tweet by the Minister, the fourteen airports are open for full domestic operations and there won’t be the need for ministerial approvals.

The tweet reads “Glad to announce that the following airports are open for full domestic operations, hence ministerial approvals in and out of them is not required. 

This includes private and charter operations. We will keep you informed on the reminder airports in due course, please.”

As announced by the Minister, the inspected and certified airports are Murtala International Airport, Lagos, Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja, Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport, Kano, Port Harcourt International Airport, Omagwa and Sam Mbawke Airport, Owerri.

Others are Maiduguri airport, Maiduguri, Victor Attah airport, Uyo, Kaduna Airport, Kaduna, Yola Airport, Yola, Margaret Ekpo Airport, Calabar, Sultan Abubakar Airport, Sokoto, Birnin Kebbi Airport, Yakubu Gowon Airport, Jos and Benin Airport, Benin.

All the listed Airport were reportedly inspected and approved for resumption of normal domestic flight operations in line with COVID-19 protocol.

You will recall that the Minister has earlier described as untrue the report that International Flight resumption date is October adding that the resumption date may be earlier than October.
