With Children’s Day celebrations kicking off tomorrow, we thought you might appreciate some super ideas on how to celebrate this special day with your precious little ones.
This year for Children’s Day, as well as recognizing the little angels in your family, why not spread the love to other children in your community?
In the process you’ll be sharing an important message with your child about the value of all children and the spirit of giving.
Talk about what makes them your special treasure, and date it and keep it in a treasure box for them. Each year you could add a photo, memento or new letter. This is a priceless gift your kids are bound to treasure as they grow older.
Let your kids donate some of their good quality toys and clothes to an orphanage or to a charity organization for children. Let them choose some toys and buy a new one or two if you can afford it, and go with them to donate. This instills the values of caring for other children and giving to others.
At the local park or at the beach, or lake, and pack your child’s favorite picnic food, some fun activities like board games or a ball to throw around together.
Introduce them to classics like Home alone and Toy Story and let them introduce you to their modern favorites too.
Of taking photos of your child or children every Children’s Day, starting with this year and then every year after. Add the photo to the wall each year to celebrate change and growth.
Children’s Day needn’t be expensive – there are loads of events happening throughout the country organized by schools, churches, or government organizations. You can find a suitable one and give your child a free treat.
With your children and get to know other families in your community. This brings back that sense of community and enables your children to make friends in their own neighborhood. Community support is important and it brings light to the quote ‘it takes a village to raise a child’.
March parade is the most prominent event on Children’s day. Smart looking and well-dressed children, gather at an open ground where they show-off their marching skills to the admiration of a government dignitary – local government chairman, government or any other government representatives. The parade is for the children to have fun.
If you have a suitable spot for planting in your house, why not plant a tree for your baby and watch it grow with your child? It will be their own special tree and you will be doing both your child and the environment a service.
For your children to give to their friends at playgroup or school using their own artwork or handprints.
