As at today, not less than 10 medical doctors in Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital Kano have tested positive to coronavirus. It is suspected that they might have contracted the virus while treating positive patients in the same hospital.

Adressing the issue, the Chiarman of Resident Doctors Association, Aminu Kano Teaching Hopsital Kano, Dr Abukakar Nagona confirmed that eight out of those doctors have been admitted at the isolation centre in the state. The other two doctors are self-isolating in their respective homes as they have not developed symptoms yet.

Speaking further he raised awareness to the lack of sufficient PPEs for the health workers in the facility. Nagona said that the refusal to wear face masks by the patients when coming to the hospital was also part of the reasons for the health workers getting infected.
